Interactivos? Better than the real thing
Is your attention for interactive installations triggered after seeing the Lightweeds of Simon Heijdens at Platform21? Then check out the website of art and technology center Eyebeam in New York. Their project ‘Interactivos? Better than the real thing’ is all about interactive artworks.
These works or projects, selected from an open call, investigate interactivity in all its forms and usually feature a mix of hardware tinkering, software coding and conceptual hacking.
What’s interesting is that the space will turn into a laboratory first, where the works are created on the spot and where public is welcome to watch, learn and get involved before the space turns into an exhibition hall to showcase the finished end results. The artists work together with engineers, musicians, programmers, designers, and hackers, whom are also selected via an open call. Read all about the different projects at Eyebeam’s website.
