Repair Road Show
at the Market of the Future in Rotterdam

This summer Platform21 travels the country with the Repair Road Show. With our Repair Mobile we will be present at various festivals and events throughout the Netherlands. The Repair Team executes quick fixes on all sorts of broken things that can be found on festivals: from ripped bags, belts and other garments to picnic blankets and broken tent-poles.
We are happy to serve you a free cup of coffee while we tell you about the Repair Manifesto and the Most Remarkable Repair Contest. With the Repair Road Show we want to enthuse even more people about repairing and give many more products in this country a longer life.
Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 June we are in Rotterdam
at the Market of the Future at the Afrikaanderplein.
The Market of the Future takes place on the Afrikaander square, which forms the center of the multicultural Afrikaander neighbourhoud. The festival forms a combination of a souk, pasar malam and fairground and reflects the innovative cultural wealth of the neighboorhoud. It is a place where unique products are sold and where opportunity is given to new activities. Local entrepreneurs design new products and services in collaboration in collaboration with artists, an initiative from the Freehouse Foundation and Foundation Kosmopolis Rotterdam.
For the project Lucki Me Fortune Cooking food blogger Debra Solomon works on the development of a collective restaurant with several food entrepreneurs (like a restaurant, supermarket, toko and snackbar). Here new intercultural recipes will be developed.
Designer Cindy van Bremen develops and produces in close collaboration with women from active sewing and craft groups from the area a series of garments and accessories. The materials for the products are bought at the Afrikaander market and the newly developed patterns are sold in the same fabric stalls, so everyone can make the products themselves: Suit It Yourself.
