eMotio

Every socket is a fuelling station

Many people drive their family cars to work every day. They realise this is bad for the environment, but in spite of the guilt, they don’t want to give up the ‘freedom’. They’d rather control the steering wheel themselves. They’d prefer to ride a motorcycle to avoid traffic jams, but they don’t really dare.

Hugo Vrijdag created the eMotio to appeal to these sportive commuters. Its design unites reason and emotion. The eMotio has two wheels in front and one in back. The driver steers by shifting his or her weight from one side to the other. This creates a more active driving sensation.

The eMotio runs on batteries inside the two front wheels, which are easy to change. It is also possible to use rechargeables. A windmill on the polder or a solar panel in the desert – every socket is a potential fuelling station.
