The Repair Road Show on tour
The Repair Road Show, an idea of Cunthia Hathaway, has covered quite some kilometers this summer, traveling to festivals and events through the country. This hotdog cart, transformed into a mini exhibition and decorated with colourful rolls of tape and DIY kits of woolfiller, offered loads of repair inspiration. Here you could think of a good entry for our Repair Contest and find inspiration in the Repair Manifesto that we promoted. In this way the Repair Road Show gave many products in this country a longer life.
The Repair Road Show was in Rotterdam for the Market of Tomorrow on the Afrikaanderplein, at cinema Het Ketelhuis in Amsterdam for Strawberry Earth - the first green film festival ever, and in Haarlem for the Houtfestival. We went to Arnem twice: for the Night of Fashion and children’s festival the Colour of the Night in the idyllic Sonsbeekpark. The Repair Road Show also joined the traveling theatre festival De Parade and visited each city the tented camp attended. We didn’t stage plays but we did have wool filler so holed up sweaters and socks were all darned at the Repair Mobile.
There was more theatre at festival Karavaan, with the Repair Road Show being part of its programming in Schagen. Our busy summer tour ended with three days of Road Show at lifestyle festival SITE2F7 in Almere.
